What If All My Symptoms Go Away?

I’m tired.

I’m tired of the hustle, the grind, the schedules, the wake ups, the alarm clocks, the meeting notifications, the emails that never end, the shopping lists, the grocery lists, the school calendars, the sports schedules, the school pick up lines, the waiting on hold for help getting into that account (don’t lose that password), the bills (the never ending bills), the constant flow of caffeine, the dirty house, the lack of sunshine, the lack of rest, the rushing kids off here and there, the travel requirements, the questions that have no purpose, the lack of quality time, the influencers, the left and right, the renewable energy versus fossil fuels.

But now women don’t forget you need to build a career, run a household, eat more protein, drink more water, get red light, stay away from blue light, dry brush, filter your water, organic this, organic that, poison here, poison there, read labels, advocate for your health, advocate for your family’s health, feed the dog, smile, wear the weighted vest, strength train 3-4 days a week, meal prep snack for your kids, remember everyone’s schedules, read your bible, wake up early for quiet time, get 9 hours of sleep, talk to your friends (where are they), stay off social media, monitor your children’s social media, the news channels lie, decipher the actual truth from the garbage, teach your kids how to navigate the devils playground (internet), eat whole foods, avoid processed foods, detox and parasite cleanse, tick infestations, Lyme disease vaccine, 2020 repeat, regulate your nervous system, don’t forget your supplements (but not the poison kind), make your own soap, make your own bread, grow your own food, can and process, stock your pantry with things you’ve made. Fill the house, more things, buy this, buy that, TikTok shop, UGC. Make it stop.

29, 220 days, if we are lucky.

24 hours in a day.

After all that, what’s left? Where is there room for silence. For what matters most? Or even the space to be able to figure out what matters most.

What is really important? Is it all of those things?

Maybe it’s more slow mornings, no alarm clocks, screens for less that 30 minutes a day, bare feet on the earth, warm sunshine on skin, loved ones nearby, no rushing, more presence, less presents, more nature, less guilt around just being, just existing, more praise, more positivity, more laughter, more hugs, more peace, more quiet, less noise.

It seems that the list of what matters most is shorter. Is that because it’s harder to see right now? Is it because what’s really important is so much more simple that the rat race we have been sold to believe is “normal” or “a good busy”?

To be continued…
